In 1847 a picture book about persimmons was co-edited by four prominent natural historians (Kansen Tamaru, Rakuho Iimuro, SetsuĊ Sahashi and Kain Shima). It was titled Kakihin (Persimmon Products). The books 24 pictures of Japanese persimmon varieties are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. The unnamed artist drew his picture subjects accurately.
